Mangal Pandey -- worth watching? PDF Print E-mail

So not being the biggest fan of Bollywood movies, I approached Mangal Pandey with my normal reservations about the typical Hindi film -- set for three hours of trite dialogs, songs and dance extravaganzas, and acting comparable to a high school drama. But, I must say that Mangal Pandey breaks the mold.

The idea behind this Mission Hill restaurant is neat: fuse culinary influences from foods all alone the 33rd parallal (which intersects San Diego as it circles the globe) to create novel, new dishes. Again, highly rated by Zagats (Food-24, Décor-20, Service-21), we decided to check it out.

French-Mexican Fusion? Candelas in the Gas Lamp Quarter, San Diego PDF Print E-mail

Continuing on our search for interesting cuisine, Naush and I decided to make a trip out to Candelas in the historic Gas Lamp Quarter of San Diego. The place was billed as offering "nouvelle cuisine from Mexico" and had high ratings from Zagats, so we knew we couldn't go wrong. The restaurant is situated on one of the quieter streets of Gas Lamp, and the décor added to the motif of a romantic place.
